There is always the demand on the communication on the plane. After all, many businessmen need to keep contact any time. After 9.11, the airline companies want the new inter-machine communication and WebService. In 2000, Boeing tried the speed air connection through Connexion. But it proved unsuccessful in 2006 because of the fewer users and unsuccessful negotiation with the airline company.
Though Boeing failed, the related trial goes on. Aircell is an example on the market. Aircell is an iner-machine company which gains the approval of FCC and FAA to be used in 800MHz. In 2006, it invested 31.30 million dollars on the auction of the right to use of the 3MHz ATG (air-to-ground). It began to launch the inner-machine internet service plan.
The businessman can choose the wideband solution or audio solution. The audio service is provided through iridium satellite. The wideband service uses ATG band.

The specially designed mobile phone for the commerical aircraft is different fromt the former terminals. It has a 3.8 inch touch screen. It realizes the voice calling through the direct menu. It can be used with ATG. It’s estimated to ship out at the end of 2011.
Aircell uses the Android system. Except for the voice calling, it will provide a series of value added service like Gmail and e-book.
At present, there are many options for Gogo inflight Internet. At present, there are 1000 planes proving the Aircell service in America.
