Currently, the Wireless Power Consortium published the Qi wireless standard in Beijing, China. It will enable us to give up the long cable charger. It sounds great to charge the phone without wire.
The world first wireless power standard organization – Wireless Power Consortium officially declared that the Qi would be introduced in China on Aug, 31. Later on the standard will be published in Hong Kong and other important areas. Then the moible products can realize the wireless charging with the support of the Wireless Power Consortium, mobile and chip manufacturers.
It’s learned that the wireless charging is realized by two new devices. One is the charger which will be connected with power. The other is the tray for transferring. The mobile phone can be charged as the distance between mobile and tray is within limits. But it’s the power, not the simple data being transimitted, the effective distance should be within 1 centimeter at present. Of course, with the progress with the technology, the distance will be extended in the future.
It’s said that the wireless charging technology will not only be used for charging the mobile phone, but also the PMP/ MP3 player, digital camera and notebook. According to the market survey, the potential capacity of the world wireless charging will be 14 billion dollars by 2013.
